New Beginnings
City & Country Group believes in respecting the quality, strength and detail of historical buildings. The group’s mission is to restore their outstanding features while incorporating all the modern benefits expected in homes today.
The company’s close-knit team of professionals has the strength and breadth of imagination to rejuvenate old properties with sensitivity. Its expertise is in having hands-on experience in breathing new life into an old building whilst enhancing and restoring the historical features and fabric. City & Country often removes unfortunate late 20th century additions in order to achieve this. The company’s new buildings are created with traditional materials, proportions and detail which ensures that they enhance their surrounding.
The group’s belief is in a refusal to compromise with the easiest and cheapest solution. It would rather push boundaries to develop a creative and sympathetic solution to renovation. We maintain the proportion, detail and character whilst adhering to modern building regulation requirements.
The starting point is to strip out all the modern additions to reveal the hidden history and get back to the core building. Historic features, such as the stairs, generous timber and steel windows and robust timber trusses form the constraints and focal points around which the layouts are then designed. This will result in a collection of individual homes and offices that work with the historical grain of the site, and make the most of the character and history of the buildings.
